                   UNEMPLOYED OR IN NEED OF SOME FINANCIAL HELP

                                   THERE IS HELP FOR YOU! 

 

 

St. Brigid Parish is a caring community who recognizes that some of our

families may be facing financial hardships due to long periods of unemployment. 

You may not be aware that St. Brigid contributes to several local assistance programs

that may be of help to you now.  

 

Listed below are organizations that you can contact for help.

 

St. Joseph’s League  A ministry to the unemployed and underemployed, St. Joseph’s

            League meets at St. Brigid each Tuesday evening at 7:30 in the church basement

            to network and share information.  Just come and join in the group.

 

Dublin Food Pantry  Located at the Dublin Community Church.  Call 889-1026 to

            make an appointment for assistance.

 

J.O.I.N. (Joint Organization for Innercity Needs) Phone 241-2530.  J.O.I.N. is our

            own diocesan program for emergency needs, such as, prescriptions, utilities, and

            transportation.  Located downtown across from the Catholic Center on Gay St.

 

First Link  Call 221-2255 for information and referrals to agencies in the central Ohio

            area that offer help for almost any type of problem.

 

Legal Aid Society  Legal Aid lawyers can sometimes help with foreclosures on homes

            and with tax payments.  Call 224-8374. 

 

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Central Ohio If you are having difficulty with

            credit card or loan payments, this agency offers advice on restructuring debt. Call

            464-2227 to make an appointment.

            ***Also contact your mortgage company immediately and request a revised

                  payment schedule while you are out of work.

 

CMACAO (Columbus Metropolitan Area Community Action Organization) From

            November through March, 2004, CMACAO has federal funds to assist people

            with utility payments.  Call 224-0432 or 324-5141 to see if you may qualify for

            the program.

 

AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) People in this age group may seek

            help through the Upper Hand Program.  Call 224-9800. 

 

            Monsignor Hendricks would be happy to talk with you in confidence about your

needs and may be able to refer you to additional resources within the parish.  Please call
