"The General Instruction of the Roman Missal (third typical edition) contains the norms for our Eucharistic celebrations.  As with all our endeavors, concepts change and are updated over time.  Through the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM), the Church strives to revise and help its members to "grow continually in holiness by its conscious, active, and fruitful participation in the mystery of the Eucharist."
