Religious Education
Open to all children of our parish, classes are available for preschoolers (age 3 through kindergarten), elementary and middle-school children. Registration is required and is on-going throughout the year at 761-1176. The department serves over 1200 children and is under the direction of Mrs. Mary Fran Cassidy.
Preschool/Kindergarten
Preschool (ages 3 and 4) and kindergarten classes are offered in the Parish Education Center during the 5:00 Saturday and 9:00 and 10:45 Sunday masses. Additional kindergarten classes are offered Monday and Tuesday at 4:30. The school year is September through April.
Grade and Middle School
Religion classes for grades k-8 are offered Monday through Wednesday 4:30-5:30 and Monday and Tuesday 6:00-7:00. All classes are taught by certified religious educators (catechists) and all classes are held in the Parish Education Center.

A special class called "Sacraments" is offered Tuesdays 4:30-5:30 to students beyond second grade that have not yet received Baptism or First Communion.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)
The Parish Education Center comes alive the first week of August with VBS. Children age 3 to sixth grade celebrate our Lord with learning, crafts, songs and play. A different theme is offered each year. Registration starts in the spring, watch the weekly church bulletin.
Religious Education Teachers & Volunteers
All teachers (catechists) for grades 1-8 are certified under current diocesan guidelines. We are blessed to have an experienced staff, with many catechists having taught for over ten years. We provide many opportunities for on-going enrichment and certification. With the size of our program, we are always looking for individuals with a desire to teach. Please call Mary Fran Cassidy if you are interested.

Volunteers are the life support of serving so many children. Opportunities are available during class times for teacher aides in the classroom, hall monitors, parking lot attendants, babysitting and substitute teaching. Office help is needed during class times or on week days. We also need help with our fund-raisers and special project/events. We are flexible with your time as our office is open during the day and during class times. Watch for volunteer requests or contact our office if you have the gift of time or a special talent you can share.

Children's Liturgy of the Word
At the 9:00 mass, the children of the congregation are invited to the front of the church and are then escorted to the basement where they will listen to the Liturgy of the Word. The readings reflect the same message, but at a level the children can more easily grasp. We are hoping to expand this ministry to other mass times as the volunteer base grows. Training is available for those who love children and wish to share the Gospel with them.
Sunday Child Care
Children over one year are invited to play during the 9:00 and 10:45 masses in the nursery located in the back of Msgr. Enke Hall. No advance registration is required. Parents and those who love small children can volunteer and are scheduled every 2-3 months.
